Benjamin Appreciation Post

~ Benjamin Appreciation Post ~

If you have been keeping up with me, you know that lately I have been having some ongoing health issues. On top of those issues, the medication I have been having to take weakened my immune system, and I caught the flu that lasted almost an entire week. Meanwhile Benjamin is perfectly healthy and happy. But on top of that he has been such a trooper, being as patient as an almost 10 month old can be. I'm not going to say my week was easy and that I got a lot of needed rest during the days while we were home together, but I am also thankful that it went as smoothly as it did. They're really not kidding when they say that moms don't get a day off! I find this to be especially true being a SAHM. I can't speak for everyone, but I can speak for myself when I say that I am so lucky to be a mother, especially to a little boy who is special. All he wanted the entire week was to be with me, to lay on me, to sleep with me, and he would get upset if anyone tried getting in the way of that. We haven't coslept with him since he was a newborn, so him wanting to actually sleep with me was truly shocking. It was really like he was trying to heal me, and in a way he did. The love and bond between a mother and child truly is incredible. So here's to Benjamin, my magical little bear.

Benjamin's First Thanksgiving(s)

Hey all! Although this is overdue and we have all moved on to preparing for Christmas, here are some pictures from Benjamin's first Thanksgivings! Our first dinner was at Benjamin's Mimi's house, with Tommy and his siblings. Benjamin finally got to meet his Uncle Matthew and he seemed very intrigued by him! Benjamin had lots of fun crawling and exploring with his cousin Grayson, and Mimi had her hands full trying to keep up with the both of them while she let the mamas eat. Although it was a short trip for us, it was nice to be around our family.

Then, we had Thanksgiving at our house with Benjamin's great grandmother (GG), his Pappy and Princess, and Tommy's siblings. We even had Ben's godfather Jay with us! I stayed busy in the kitchen with GG so I missed most of the playtime with the boys, and Ben had gone down for a nap when I was sitting down to eat, but Ben and I did get some one on one time in the kitchen after everyone had eaten and were resting/digesting in the living room together. Just getting that moment together with him, and then watching him discover pumpkin pie were the moments I was the most thankful for this Thanksgiving. <3 (also, check out that sweet homemade apple pie Tommy made!)
